Question about 1999 Ford Expedition
I had work done on my car years ago to replace the heater core on my vehicle and ever since then, the air barely blows through my vents. i can hear it and it works on all levels but i'm thinking that it is blowing out and behind the console. The heat works and the ac gets cool...but it takes a long time because it doesn't come through the vents well. Is this something that anyone has come across?
Common issue. Your air ducts were not reassembled properly and so the blower fan is working but the air is going out wherever the air duct is improperly fitted. Also the fan gate ( a metal gate that is used to block off any heat entering the system when you have the a/c on may be stuck in the close position. Whatever the case it can be repaired by getting in the sysem under the passenger side of the underside of the dash. You may want a professional mechanic to perform thid because it is a bit of a job to access all of the items needed. Hope this helps!!!

This problem is caused my the blend door actuator motor, the electric motor turns to allow the flap to open either to cool or heat and then through the vents. The problem has been either the motor is going bad or the actual motor stops working. There are small plastic gears that strip in the motor causing this. I have replaced several in the rear unit. The front one is under the dash next to the heater core. The dashboard must be removed. It is a big job.
Please rate me and let me know if this helped.
