Some of these newer cars have an electrical cut out made into the system so it childproofs the controls..this option may have failed entirely on your vehicle.. its usually a switch or relay issue..I have found in my experiences with auto electrical that if you attach a battery charger to the car in place of the battery itself(disconnect it entirely) that some relays will buzz if they are stuck or not working right..try this and see what it does..

Windows on passenger side front and rear won't work, up or down.

He could have been more helpful and explained it's likely some broken wires in the door openings. Check carefully the wire harness in the front driver's door and in the passenger front door, where wires get stressed the most when opening and closing doors. The driver's window switch is the master switch for all windows, check there and the other doors openings for broken wires. Splice back together any broken wires you find and recheck windows. Hope you find it. If not there, but somewhere else in the harness, you would probably need professional help to find it.

Rear passanger side window won't go up or down

Window regulator most likely but before changing it out take the door panel off and apply current to the contacts of the actualy regulator. If the window goes up then switch the contacts and now it will go down. If nothing then regulator (window motor) is bad. If it works then your master control switch for all the windows is going bad.

Clicking from front passanger side wheel

continuous velocity joint going bad (CV JOINT). will need to be replaced, may go out at anytime, or may last a good while. likely reason is boot was cracked and grease was lost, so over time the joint gets heat cracked, and eventually breaks and bearings come loose leaving veh imobile (won't effect engine, wheels just won't move)

I have a 1998 ford explorer and sometime at the same time the windows won't go up or down and the dome light won't work and the windshield wipers won't work what can it be?

  • You need to open up the drivers side door and look at that harness that stretches between the door and the door frame. Inside that harness are the wires for the electronics in the cabin and then some.

  • Over time those wires get pinched and crack and break. So you need to splice the casing (or just simply slide the harness to one side and then the other) open the long ways and inspect the wiring. Your looking for broke, split, rusted, bulging or otherwise negated wiring. The boots on either side may need to come off to look up inside for broke wires as well. Usually it's pretty evident which wires are messed up but sometimes you have to do a little digging.

  • When you find the broke wire[s] splice some new wire[s] in and use electric tape to re-insulate.

  • This is a common problem across the board with many car manufacturers and repairing the harness almost always is the fix in a situation such as yours.

  • Hope this helps.

My passanger side window won't go down all the other windows work a year ago i replaced both window switches

You may have a broken track. You need to take the door apart and have a look behind the inside door handles.

You may have a broken wire that goes to the door from the main body. Take a look at the area where the hinges are. You will see a rubber boot. In that boot are wires that go to your door. One of them may be broke.

Even though you have new switches it is possible that on of them has gone bad and may need to be replaced again.

I have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee.. None of the buttons work on the driver side door panel. Windows won't go down. Could this be a fuse? If so, I need a diagram for the fuse panel. Will i have to test every...

This issue is most likely related to a loose connection in the wiring harness. There is a wire harness that runs inside a rubber boot and is visible when the door is open. Move the boot up and down, back and forth with a little pressure and see if the buttons work. If so, there is a break in the wire inside this harness and is very common with Jeep. You may also need to remove the door panel and inspect the connections to the door/window switch module to correct this issue.

It sounds like the Power Window Motor is bad, if it was a wiring issue it would either work or not work, it wouldn't matter what position (up or down) the window was moving in. Replace the motor and it should work fine.
