The start valve in intercooler pipes is sticking open. Valve located under big black plastic tank connected by smaller black hose connected to air cleaner. When car is started spring valve opens to bypass supercharger to let air into inlet manifold if valve sticks open pressure can't buildup in manifold leaks straight to air cleaner. Black smoke and skipping

Black smoke indicates you are burning excess fuel. This could be anything from a bad air cleaner through to sensors, injectors and fuel pump pressure.

The miss could be a plug or other ignition problem.

Start with the plugs, air cleaner and timing, the simple and easy fixes. Then work your way back through a process of elimination if the problem is not cured by the first fixes.

P2285 code 6.0 litre ford deisel long cranking before starting after starts runs great but oil pressure gauge drops at idle

bad bearings on crank or worn oil pump. Pressure will be up when cold, but will drop when engine warms up. Check for knock in lower end. If so, bad crank bearings.

Black smoke from exhaust, rough idle, black soot on plugs

signs of a bad fuel pressure regulator-- the vehicle will run rough, the engine will not start ( usually in the mornings,) many times engine starts but stalls shortly after starting. a bad regulator can result in fouled plugs. replacement is only cure. 1- black soot on plugs-2-black smoke from tailpipe-3- running rough-4- stalling, good-day! repost if need be.

MY 94 rodeo 2.8lt turbo diesel blows lots of smoke when the throttle is down.. When i lift the foot of it stops smoking.. can you help..

if its black smoke and id say it is being a deisel it can be injectors or just simply fuel pump timing. get it to a deisel specialist to check the pump timing and your fuel load under acceleration, only real way to get it sorted.

It won't move and is blowing white and black smoke

White smoke (sweet smelling, too) means antifreeze is leaking into the combustion chamber, blowing out the tail end of your truck. the boiling water in your reservoir means the pressure from the combustion chamber is pushing air into your cooling system which will eventually surface in your reservoircontainer

black smoke: it can be unburned fuel damaged turbo charger etc. light amount of smoke can be normal large amounts = problem.

I have a 2004 F-250 with the 6 liter deisel. It is missing bad at start and black smoking. also had the oil changed three days ago and found new oil laying in the air filter and breather tube.

That motor should have a longer warranty on it I would take it to dealer, they are really bad for head gaskets and turbo chargers, if there is any damage that has been sent out the exhaust make sure they remove the nox convertor(looks like a cat. conv.) and clean it out or you will loose power!

I have a 2006 F350 suppercrew 4x4 dully truck. It has 6.0 deisel , my truck has lost power , is down to 10 miles per gallion and run a little rough what could be causeing the problem?

quite a few possibilites here, a blocked catalatic converter can do this, a blocked fuel filter, a blocked injector pump, if the exhaust is emitting dark black smoke, your injectors could be blocked, I would suggest firstly to buy some very good injector cleaner and run it in the tank,, this may or may not help but its a cheap start and a cheap fix if it works. Good luck

There should be a small wire harness on the inside of the driver side tow hook under the bumper. The chord is very short and has a cap over the plug. Just reach in and you'll find a black cable about 1/2" thick. There's another wire tapped into it that has the plug end.
