Question about 1996 Ford Taurus
Hey, I have a '96 Ford Taurus and the radio won't work. It worked fine after I bought the car but now it won't work after the battery died (I left the lights on). So after jumping the car, everything worked except the radio. The air control and defroster controls work fine. I first jumped it with an old cable so I figured I blew a fuse, but after changing every fuse, it still didn't work. Then I exchange the system 3 different times with 3 different systems from 3 different cars and it still didn't work. Any ideas? I really don't feel like have ford look at it for $100.
It could be a fuseabel link in your cars wiring system that is causing the problem...you will have to get an ohmeter and test both the main power wire and the ground wire and make sure there is current...If that doesn't turn up a result then you can always install a positive wire from your ignition from the "ACC" terminal to a fused wire and bypass the whole system. You will also need a ground wire somewhere close to the unit itself. Do not link directly to your battery terminals or you will get a "HUM" in your sound system becasue of your alternator. Good Luck!
