Question about 1992 Oldsmobile Bravada

1992 GMC Sierra Won't turn over

A week ago the temperature was above 0 for the first time in weeks and I had been regularly starting my truck and driving it around. Well today I went out to start it to go to work and it started turning over but would not fire up so I thought it was just cold and did not want to start. So I brushed off the snow and went to start it again but this time nothing happened. The accessories all came on, the lights worked, everything was normal the engine just would not turn over. I do not know what to do anymore, It's been a week sense it stopped turning over and I have not had the chance to check the starter because of the snow we've been getting. Is there anything it could be besides the starter? If anyone needs anymore information I'll try my best.

So the first step is to take my battery in and get it checked out? It's warmer now (about 34) and I tried cranking it agaian and nothing happened still. But thank you! I will take my battery in tomorrow and get it checked

You either need to charge the battery, or you've got a bad battery. It's easy to power lights and radios, but turning an engine over, especially in cold weather, takes a lot of cold cranking amps (in other words, a fully charged and good battery.).

Yes. EIther put a good charger on the battery, or take it in and get it checked, and charged, if it's good.

I have a 1999 gmc sierra with (as of 30 days ago cat. converter, fuel pump and filter, cap and rotor) changed in garage. regular oil changes, tune ups as of 8 mths. it has lots of cranking power, but...

If i understand you right the truck has been sitting for two years. If it has been sitting that long without running or moving the gas has turned to varnish...I suggest that you drain and refill the fuel tank, and replace the fuel filter located on/in the frame rail on drivers side.

Hi, can you tell me how to reset the change engine oil light on my 2002 GMC Sierra 4X4 1500 PU. I changed the oil two weeks ago. Thanks, Gene

with key on engine off depress accel pedal 3 times within 5 secs. You may have to repeat the procedure several times for the reset procedure to complete. dont stomp on the pedal. Slowly depressing seems to work best.

No heat

Some of your hoses may be clogged up. I suggest having your radiator flushed and your thermostat changed. The thermostat causes more or less water to flow according to water temperature. This is what keeps your engine at a good temperature.
