2005 Ford Freestar rear door handle came off in my hand

Can anyone recommend how to fix this myself or at least pay significantly less for the parts?

Take negative side of battery off before starting then open the rear tailgate and remove the inner panel and then you can see what the problem is and on the Ford vans I have owned it was just the clip and you can put it back on use gloves because it can be sharp edges in behind those panels

Door handle came off on my ford freestar

You will have to get a new handle, and remove the inner door panel to replace it. You will also need to open the door first by pulling on the rod with a pair of pliers or moving it with a screwdriver.

The rear latch/handle on our ford freestar 2005 came off in my hand. it looks fine. I can;.t open the rear latch now. I got inside the van and removed the little plastic cap/tab the sits directly behind...

Here's how I repaired mine. Go inside and remove the plastic 2" square plastic cover. By pushing on the lever inside this area, the latch will release. Push on the door at the same time, when the latch is pushed. With the door open, remove all four screws from the plastic panel. Now pry carefully the big plastic panel off the door. There are plastic snaps holding this on, all around the edges. Now there is another metal cover over the latch mechanism under this panel. Remove this. You now can see into the latch area and put the handle back into the slot where it came out of. You'll see that the ends of the handle can be put back on the round bar, but to hold them in place, I attached 2 nylon ties on one end. You can also purchase a metal push on retainer from the local hardware store. Mine has been repaired for 8 months and had no trouble. Ford used no retainer on these handles and after prolonged use, they bend and the handle can be pulled off. A twenty minute job. Your wife can even do it.

Sliding door 2005 Freestar - Banging

I would check the pin that the door locks onto when it is shut. It may be loose or worn or needs some kind of adjustment.

Liftgate will not open

There is a plastic pin that hold the handle linkage together inside the door panel.

I would take off the inside cover to the back door and check the linkage. The correct part is probably at the dealer for purchase.

It is not recommended to fix this yourself. There is a way it is suppose to be mounted/fitted. Take it to a workshop.

2005 pontac grand prix emission problem

EGR Valve needs replaced, because my gas cap light has been on forever even after replacing it and found out later it is more than likely the EGR Valve which when it screws up causes misfiring and poor performance down the road if not fixed soon enough and also leaves you with very poor gas mileage. The cost of the part ranges from $150 to $270. On the other hand it could also be Ignition Coil which costs significantly less but less likely for this to be the actual problem. Its cost is about $80 for the part.
