Question about 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

1 Answer

1999 Chevrolet pickup w/5.7 liter turns over but won't start

It will fire occasionally but won't run continuously. It also stops cranking intermittently. What gives? Thanks, Jay

Hey, Thanks for the suggestion, but I got it fixed this morning. I installed a new cap, rotor, and plugs. Guess what? She fired right up! I had 132,000 miles on the original plugs, but they came right out with no problems. Thanks, Jay

Replaced crank shaft 99 blazer, how do I orientate the crank shaft to the cam? I have set the arrow on the cam gear down turned crank till number 1 piston is very near TDC in alinement with V on the crank...

4.3 liter, right? I think you have it right--see pic below. So it cranks but no fire happening? Did you check firing order, etc.? Getting sparks? Fuel pump coming on? Injectors firing? If you had the engine out of the car, make sure you got all the ground wires back in place, etc.

Insalled new computer, cranks but wont start

Does it start and die after 1-2 seconds or just cranks and never fires? Did it run before you installed the computer or are you trying to cure a no start problem?
