What am i missing? no power to starter selenoid.

is the immobilizer off ? any other device that stops power to start or run the engine. modifications alarm upgrades etc these can all stop the power to the starter. even ecu being switched off as ecu has a shunt so it can handle the power drain when engine is being started.

I start the car and the starter stay ingage I turn the ign switch off then try to start and the same thing happened few times until it start normal do you think its the starter / starter realy or ign

I would suspect that the solenoid contacts need replacing as they may be burning together. Pull the starter and have an accredited auto electrician bench test it.

2004 Pontiac Aztec won't start the battery was tested its good the starter was tested its good turn the ignition key and nothing happens what else could it be

check for power to the starter solenoid from the ignition switch. IT is the light wire that goes to a terminal on the solenoid between the two large nuts.. If there is no power there then work back to an IGN fusible link next to the battery

99 cabrio has power, starter bench tested good, but nothing when turning key. radio, lights work

With the starter installed try checking for power from the ign to the starter, you will need a test light for this..Have someone hold the key in the starting position and then check to see if the light comes on..
If it does not than you might have a bad ign switch or natural switch

My car wont start i check the starter its ok battery is good. it wont make a clicking sound nothing

with ign power on does the dash lights/gauges come on? if so than do you have power to the ign side of your starter solenoid? might be a fusible link blown that goes to the ign from the starter, get a test light and see where the power ends.

F 150 starts and starter stays engaged unplug alternator starts ok but no charge

2 problems, first you have bad starter or starter relay for starter staying engaged, keep alt plugged in has nothing to do with starter staying engauged, to test starter relay, jump at relay bat + post with red/bk wire on solonoid, if cranks over without staying engaged, then not relay or starter but rather in your ign switch, ford had bad problems with ign switch some years ago doing that

Why wont my 2000 sunfire start?

starter relay, ignition switch, park switch.need to use a volt meter and start at the starter, see if you have at least 12 volts.if there is have the battery tested.does your head lights come on?next no voltage, go to the fuse box under the hood and check for (2) 12 volt powers with the key on and a good ground.if ok replace the relay.next move the trans shifter to neutral with foot on brake and try and start if it starts you need park switch.if not next is the ign.switch to test, you will need to locate the starter wire and check for voltage when starting if none replace the ign.switch hope this helped.also the alternator has nothing to do with the cranking of the engine on this car.

Think the ign switch is bad, not key switch, but column switch. need expert advice on how to change. any ideas??? key turns, locksmith said key switch is not problem, key turns but no starter action? help...

did you check your fuses and relay for power a test light will work. start with the fuse first. the relay should have 1 power all the time. the other will with the key turned to start. rare for the switch to go bad. best of luck
