Question about Hyundai Motor 2002 Elantra

Break lights not working

I have 02 hyundai elantra. I mistakenly jumped it wrong. The car was then repaired at a shop a month ago. I then realized that my high beam and my break lights dont work. Interestingly, break light over the back seat in the middle works. I opened fuse box and replaced fuse for high lamps and now my high beam works. I tried same for the fuse in the dash board for stop light but my break lights dont work. What should I do next? Since, the break light on the middle of back seat works, I am feeling this is electrical wire problem that can not be solved with fuse change. am I right? how can I fix this?

the dim red light is on when head lights turned on. they dont turn bright red upon breaking as they should. if headlights not on, they dont light up upon breaking.

My 1999 hyundai sonata's headlights will NOT work high or low beams???

As you can see from the illistration/wiring diagram, other than the actual wiring, there are two fuses (one for left & the other for right), two relays one for Low beam & one for High beam), and finally the multi-function switch which must be working to provide a ground for the relays (High & Low Beams). You can Go to www.hmaservice.com and register your vehicle by VIN #.. you'll then have access to wiring diagrams, shop manuals, service bulletins, campaigns, illustrations and procedures, etc.

My low beam lights sometimes stop working i still have high beam and daylight runing lights after a while they come on.2009 elantra dealer can't find problem.

when the low beams quit try switching from high to low and back and see if low beams stay on, if they do it may be the dimmer switch, if that doesn't change anything suspect the headlight switch.

Adjustment headlights '02 Hyundai Elantra

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

For Low Beams: If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

For High Beams (if separate from low beams): Aim the headlight directly at the line you marked on the wall.
