1992 volvo 240 keeps blowing overdrive fuses

I keep getting the overdrive arrow light and found the overdrive fuse blown, replaced the fuse and it blew out again.I'm wondering if the relay is bad and causing the fuse to blow out.

More likely that the solenoid in the transmission is shorted to ground. Has any new electronic equipment been installed recently, like stereo, alarm, etc?

Main beam fuse blowing on volvo v70 2004

Check the wiring harness to the back of the headlamp connector. They tend to rub against the frame near the headlamp and get cut, then short out. It may be as simple as relocating the bundle and adding some electrical tape to keep it from shorting.

I have a 92 240 that blew fuse to fuel pump.Replaced fuse, drove 2 days and since then will not start.Fuel pump tested good, can not locate fuel relay.

new fuel filter when replaced the pump? might have a bare wire somewhere causing the fuse to blow usually the relay is under hood with main fusses and secondary being under dash or in glove box.

Fuse keeps burning out

If fuses keep blowing, then there is a dead short somewhere,. My advice would be to go to an auto electrician. You did not mention for which circuit/s the fuses blow.

Check the transmission filter, may be clogged up, do not change the oil, keep the same oil when replacing filter, trust me to avoid transmission repair.

Where is overdrive relay on 1992 940

You can find it behind the fuse box. To access the relays. Remove the plastic cover on the cigarette lighter socket, remove the screw, and remove the ash tray to gain access to the fuses and panel whit the lighter socket. The relay is marked number 123 or 136, found all the way to the right second row.

Cooling Fan Fuse

Sounds like a short in the wiring, or a bad fan motor drawing too much current. Check the wiring for shorts, if none are found, replace the fan motor.
