Sounds like either you have a short from your resent electrical work..or your drawing to much power from the alt...if its the later, get a bigger alt or try running the radio straight from your battery....make sure you have some way to turn it on and off though;)...more likely its a wiring problem that happened when you changed the system...recheck your wires and make sure they are all in good order..especially the grounds and hots.

an air leak would weaken the mix of fuel to air so giving you better fuel efficiency but a poor power output.
was my last answer not to your liking, re **** fuel consumption on all fiat/alpha cars.but it is true, ask any owner........14.7 average mpg.......£205 road tax.....(tax it for a year and quadruple its value...)

In the air intake, you'll find an air measuring valve ( older models ) or a hot wire system ( newer models ).
See if the valve can move smoothly, and/or if the measuring wire is totally clean! CAUTION, those parts are very fragile!

The idle regulation valve can also be faulty or clogged ( or its tubing ). This specially on older engines were some oil is consumed...
