Car cranks but goes dead and will not idle, what's wrong?

Carbon on the IAC - idle air control valve or it is bad ! The engine computer controls the idle by way of the idle air control valve . Or a stuck open EGR valve will cause the same problem . EGR - exhaust gas recirculation - adds a small amount of exhaust gas to be introduced into the engine with fresh charge of air an fuel to lower combustion temperature to stop formations of NOX -oxides of nitrogen. Or the throttle plate needs to be cleaned Section 20 Idle Speed Controls lecture preview

Car runs great till it warms up then it starts to cut out and stall what could cause this

When a vehicle is first started up , your vehicle goes into open loop, It ignores certain sensor and maintains a set idle. When it warms up it goes into closed loop now the ECM make a correction from certain sensor for feedback and maintains a target idle. The IAC is responsible for this If you have false air(vacuum leaks) it cant do its job,if everthing is good, your solution is the IAC

After scanning my 91 lincoln towncar code 327 shows .plus car will hardly stay at a idle and dies when im driving 60 miles an hour it runs good but when i come to a stop it dies

Code 327 is caused by too low of a voltage signal.

Removing the throttle body and cleaning the passages behind it where gunk builds up can help.

But this code is suggesting you replace your DPFE Sensor.
If problem occurs intermittenly after that, then replace the EGR Valve.

I put a new battery in my 91 lincoln town car and when I am going down the road and turn it wants to shut the engine off.

foolow the instructions below, u have lost the idle learn, clean the ntake and then drive for a week or so. this will fix the problem.
Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

94 Lincoln TC engine stalls when slowing/stopping

Most common cause of stalling for Lincolns in that era is the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). It regulates fuel mixture, idle speed etc. A bad TPS will usually act up in one of two ways:
  1. When cold, car continually stalls
  2. When warm, car stalls when slowing down (especially if AC is on)
As far as valve cover oil leak, it's a problem that should be addressed to keep oil from fouling your spark plugs but highly unlikely to be the cause of your stalling problem. Hope this answers your question. All the best.

Goes dead

sounds like you have either a large vacume leak or just a bad idle control motor. its mounted to the top of the intake manifold with a single 2 wire connector.
