Question about 2001 Volkswagen Golf
Its the front passenger side door and I've been told that one screw inside the door is all thats involved!!? Thanks for any advice.
You need to remove the blank where the lock barrell would be fitted if it was drivers side.to do this remove the black plastic bung that is located on the edge of the door ,then pull the handle as if you were opening the door and hold it in that position, then insert a 20 torx screwdriver in the exposed hole from pulling the bung out and unscrew untill you start to feel resistance ,the screw will not come out you are just slackening it.then you will be able to release handle and pull out blank or barrell if you have one fitted.then flick the cable out the handle ,you can then pull handle towards the back edge of the door and un hook it from door.holding the handle while you are unscrewing the screw is important if you dont the retainer can fall of and end up in the door........not good....
