Question about 2004 Saab 9-3
When you hit the eject button it makes an awful grinding sound. If you try to play the CD it tells you there is no CD in the player. Eventually it resets and allows you to play the CD but will not eject.
I had the same problem, solution, the cd unit needed to be replace. Lost the CD as well.

Go to a local audio shop and buy a can of cd lub simply spray it in and thats it,hope that helps .adrian
