2005 Mercedes C240; looses power and check engine light comes

I had the camshaft sensor replaced but it still looses power and will not start. What other reason could there be for the power loss.

On the Mercedes C-240 the oil sencor light came on with the A service oil change .I had the oil changed and now the oil level light comes on. And this is on a 2005 C-240 4-matic .

Could be the person who changed it never ran the motor and then topped it off once the filter was full. Have you checked the oil level after you let the car sit overnight to make sure the oil level is on full? I would say it could be a bad oil level sensor, except that the coincidence of coinciding with an oil change is too obvious.

it was probably a temporary bad connection to the sensor and it just needed to be shaken about to reconnect

Have you ever replaced the timing belt?? If not the problem is likely to be a loose worn out timing belt. A floppy belt will play havoc with the sensor signals and trigger a check engine light and a camshaft sensor code.

I have a 2005 Dodge neon with 157K miles just had the orignal timing belt replaced. When I start the car and the rpms hit about 3400 the car starts cutting out. Now I get the check engine light and when I...

Check your vacuum lines, it sounds like one did not get reconnected correctly. When this happens you check engine to come on and will cause your engine's rpm's to rise.

that appears to be a camshaft position sensor performance code. you can start by checking to see if the sensor is working properly, re-check and make sure that the harness is ok by checking the resistance through the harness if all looks well there make sure the computer has the latest software on it by having it scanned at your local dealer. also you can check the reluctor wheel on the camshaft for damage or debris in the way of the sensor.

hope this helps!
