Heating and air conditioning

The heat and air conditioning on my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee only works in the high setting. Any thoughts?

The blower motor works on high setting ONLY when the blower resistor is bad. The blower motor resistor is held in place with 2 screws and attached into the heater housing under the right side of the dashboard. You can identify the resistor by the big wires that are connected to the connector. If this heating/cooling system is the auto temp type, the part is a bit high on the price.

Air/fan/heat only works on high in 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee, or it will start again if I open and slam shut my glove compartment.

Check the blower motor speed dropping resistor pack and it's connections. It is located in the ducting airflow of the blower motor.

Replace a heatercore in a 1997 jeep grand cherokee

REMOVAL
  1. Remove the heater-A/C unit from the vehicle. "Housing Assembly HVAC : Service and Repair" See: Heating and Air Conditioning\Housing Assembly HVAC\Service and Repair
  2. Remove the heater core retaining screws.
  3. Pull the heater core straight out of the housing.
INSTALLATION
  1. Install the heater core into the housing.
  2. Position the clips over the heater core tubes. Install and tighten the screws.
  3. Install the heater-A/C unit into the vehicle. Under "Housing Assembly HVAC : Service and Repair" See: Heating and Air Conditioning\Housing Assembly HVAC\Service and Repair

Heat/AC Blower fan speed only works on High

Alot of people have the same problem with the fan switch and blown bulbs. There really is no fix for this. Jeep really screwed up when designing the heater control assembly. The cheapest solution is to buy another unit off Ebay. Can always go to the dealer but be ready to PAY for there mistakes.
