Front wheel s making humming noise


sounds like a wheel bearing assembly to me. i would have the clearance checked at a jeep dealer. if you can rock the wheel gently while moving forward and the sound fades and comes back, definitely a wheel bearing assembly.

Could be the rotors grinding. Take it to your local mechanic and have him check out youur front end. Hope this helps, James Booth

This noise is more likely caused by the iiner constant velocity joint. When turning the axle makes a franction of an angle in which no perpendicular to the ground. You'll gonna need to have it check as there is a possiblity that the wheel drum or axle assembly might come off when driving in high speed to avoid accident.

If this a 4WD then you most likely have a bad front axle "U" joint.

Is it full time or part time 4 wheel drive? You should check the front driveshaft u-joints.

duse the howl go away when you trun a conner ?if it duse its a wheel bearn. as for the squeak its hard to pin point. try finding some one how duse mud run they would be ableto help you with the howl noise. have a nice day

Does the noise sound as though it is coming from either the front or rear axle and does the noise change as your speed increases. If so it sound as though your axle is whining requiring overhauled if really bad.Common problem

Check your power steering fluid level, and system for leaks. May be a bad p/s pump as well. Hope this helps
