There's a service bulletin relating to this failure. Look for short in the wiring harness against the radio left side.

SOURCE: how do i release the tension pulley

Usually the carrier pully "tension pully" has a square hole in the front of it. It usuallu takes a 1/2 inch breaker bar but occassionally they will use 3/8 breaker bar. Find the hole, insert breaker bar, or a ratchet (you may need a pipe on the ratchet) and put pressure on it. Generally counterclockwise is the direction you need to go. That will release the tension on the belt while you are maintaining pressure on the breaker bar while it is inserted in the pulley. Remember how the belt is routed.

SOURCE: Instrument panel's lights out parttially....

The driver speaker cover comes off with Torx and after shining light through windshield, you will see two bulbs on a printed circuit film set apart from each other. You can reach them and twist and pull, clean contacts if bulbs not blown, replacement Sylvania 2721. There is also the reostat/dimmer knob that can be jiggled on dash, lower than the bulbs, each controling each bulb. I am in process of replacing mine with LED lights, which are brighter and come in colors as well. You just have to make sure the LED draws no more than 12 VDC as the alternator output is 14 VDC. Check out superbrightleds.com , there you will look for # 74 bulbs, which is same as 2721...I just came across the site today and thought, although your ????was a while ago, maybe this will give Saab Nation the ability to see at night....LOL

SOURCE: I need an engine diagram for a 1995 saab 900 se V6

A SAAB dealer should be able to print one out for you. BTW that engine is practically identical to the V6 used in a caddy Catera, and Saturn Ion. Those diagrams would be the same, so you might want to search that also.

SOURCE: how to relace clutch cable on 1995 saab se 900 turboon saab 900se

1. Remove the battery.
2. Remove the clutch cable end from the clutch arm end at the wire stop.
3. Slide out the rubber doughnut from the gearbox housing which holds the clutch cable
4. Move the distribution box nut and the alarm pin attached to it (some modules)
5. Disconnect the clutch cable holder from the fender and the data link holder.
6. Remove the drivers lower panel below the steering wheel and remove the air duct as well as the knee shield.
7. Slide out the fuse box holder and ICE Box (should be a black box with many wires going to it). You can remove the instrument cluster at this point but you can also do this without removing the cluster with a little patience
8. Move the pedal spring to one side and remove the eye catch for the cable.
9. Remove the clutch cable by pulling it out from the engine compartment
10. Reinstall in the reverse. Saab actually came out with a bulletin which Needed one to install two washers at the back of the new cable instead of one. The factory cable comes with one but you can remove the 2nd washer off the old cable and install it on the new cable so two exist. This helps take up excessive pedal slack.

How do the obd 2 clear the check engine light on a 1995 Saab

  • A 1995 Saab 900 still used the ISO 9141 not OBD II so an OBD II will serve no purpose to your vehicle. Saab 900 did not use OBD II until 1996. If you want the check engine light to go away on this vehicle you have to fix the problem and then the battery disconnected for a couple minutes and the light should stay away if all is OK.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.
