Question about 2001 BMW 325

BMW 2001 330 i , E -46 FOUR DOOR

Driving one day and my bmw died on the freeway ,pulled it over it started no problem .every now and then it dose the same thing out of nowhere ,i bought it used 60,000 miles it has less then 82 ,000 miles now .the computer is reading a negitive 3300 .my question is it the ignition coil or the fuel pump .i'm one of these fix it yourself type .

Most likely is your fuel pump. known issue on the e46. you will need a special tool to remove the ring which holds the fuel pump in place.

I have compression in only one of of the four cylinders.


sounds like the timing belt broke. if it is an interference engine, it may now need a cylinder head.

yea sounds like a belt or Chane but dose not jump going down the road much most of the time will do it when u start the car..

Hi I have a 2002 525i BMW,two days ago while I was driving the computer in my dasboard warned me that says 'transmission fail safe' and the car kind of slipping however it still runs with no problem on...


That is most likely the case, hopefully it just needs transmission fluid. It does give a warning when the fluid is low. I would certainly start with that.

I think your problem might be your fuel relay which is situated next to the fuse box in the engine compartment.
