DOOR LOCKS ON 2001 FORD F-150 lARIAT. 4-DOOR

Please help. The door locks have stopped working on the truck. The keypad will not work, the key fob will not work. When I push the button on the door panel, I hear a clicking down under the the dash, toward the center of the truck. It seems to struggle to try to open the locks, but will not.

Thank you,

mw

Both key fobs work. But no power to door keypad. 7/8 9/0 pushed simultaneously gets no response and pad does not light up.

First push the last two buttons on the right on the keypad and see if that locks all locks. If it does not then it sound like there is an intermittent transmitter switch that has gone out, Have a friend engage - disengage until you locate the sound you describe and locate that switch, Pull it and take it to the dealership. Replace it and you should be back in business.

Also, the keypads on this truck are not sealed. I had mine replaced twice under warranty. Third time it went out warranty would not cover it. I took apart the keypad itself. Terribly corroded contacts inside. This was causing interior lights to come on, locks to not work, clicking and keypad did not work. Cleaned all contacts, coated with electrical grease and sealed unit with RTV when reassembled. Been working great since...over a year and through mud & winter salt.

The locks are controlled by the BCM(body control module). FOB and button. Check fuses. There are 2 to 4 fuses for the BCM. You have to have an owners manual to find the fuses. After that you have to start chasing wires and have a scanner to read the BCM. As far as the key. Did it work before? Or did you buy the truck used from a lot? Most used car lots will replace an ignition key, but won't spend the time or money to make sure the key will work in the door lock.

Sorry my car was not listed so picked Altima 2003 Micra Intelligent key fob not working properly. Can drive the car but cannot open or lock the doors. Did get fob wet. Now dried out. Worked for first few...

You are going to need to check the power lock control moduel on the inside of the door panel. If the FOB appears to be working but the doors are not unlocking, you need to check this. I would also replace all fuses that control the locks. If both of these devices check out ok, you may need to replace your FOB. To check your power lock control moduel, manually lock and unlock your doors by pressing the lock button on the inside of the door. If it does not work, it is either the fuses or the power lock control moduel. If it works, your FOB has gone bad. Hope this helps! Please rate 4 thumbs up!

most, not all fords can be reprogrammed by turning the key switch on and offtill the door locks jump up or down, but if this doesnt work you may have to take it to the dealer.if the locks move ,press the down or up button on remote ,I know this works on most taurus and explorers.

Combination on car keypad does not open doors

Does the key pad on the door light up? Are there any tears in the key pad numbers? Does the key pad lock the doors?.
There are no fuses directly for the pad.. The key pad is linked directly to the RAP. module. If the locks work from the FOB the fuses for the Module are good. Chances are the pad is no good especially if it don't light up. The RAP module is above the driver side foot well, directly above the accelerator pedal . Hope this helps.
