Question about 1987 Ford Ranger

Fuel pump had power to it when i took it out,now it dont! HELP!

My 2003 chevy S10 started just quiten on me,replaced fuel filter did not fix it.Then i had it looked at,all they did was drop the tank and check the wires on top of the tank,and put it back in,and thats it.The day i got back i noticed my radio and digital odometerwere actin funny.They will work right when key is not in the start position,but when u turn the key to the start position they both turn off,and also my gas gauge doesnt work right either.So i went and got another fuel pump,after i put it in i wasnt gettn any power to it,so i put the old one back in and it wasnt gttn any power to it either,and the old one worked before i took it out.I have checked all the relays and as well as the fuses and the wires that go in to the top of the tank,what can it be.Could be my ignition switch the cluster of wires thats inside my steering colounm or my ignitioin tumbler,were ure key goes to,or wat could it be?PLEASE HELP

    fuel pump works now.i had to put the bed back on and plug the tail lights back up now it just want crank.

    Check every ground you can . .Look over in the engine compartment and see that the engine is grounded to the frame .. and the battery is grounded to the motor .. check them to see if all are tight .. also any grounds under the body .. wiggle all and check for tightness. If a device is not grounded as you know they will cause alot of misery .. try that .. Jerry

The FUel Pump only Recieves power for a few seconds when you cycle the key and should be on during crank. I would also make sure the injectors are pulsing by hooking a noid light or a regualr test light to each side of the 2 wirs and check for flashing during crank. Just get it running before you worry about guages. If the fuel guage quit after the pump than either the sender/float got screwed up or it is a wiring issue right above thak or at the connector

I have a 1993 chevy s10 4.3l TBI that will not start.

Make sure the injectors are pulsing. Whatch to make sure mists oj fuel are coming out.

1998 Chevrolet S10 truck Is Not getting gas. We Have Replaced the Fuel pump and the crankshaft Sensor and had the ignition Sensor tested which test good.Would like to Know what else to do to try to fix it.

So is the pump running or not? fuse good? relay good? Fuel pressure is???you may need to have a repair shop check it, you dont want to waste anymore time and money guessing.

How do i get to the fuel pump on a 1997 s10 blazer

Unless there is an access panel inside the vehicle above the fuel pump, you will have to remove the fuel tank in order to access the pump. Do not forget to replace the fuel filter. Partially clogged fuel filter is one of the causes of a failed fuel pump.

My 2003 Chevy Malibu suddenly lost power climbing a hill. The engine light started flashing. I was able to drive it home at 30 mph.

Could either be the ignition system - ie, coil packs, fuel filter, fuel pump, or bad gas. Was it sputtering?

2003 chevy pick up 2.2l s10 turns over but won't start has spark but no gas getting up to the injecktis only 50,00 miles on it it just stop runing and how do I fix it

if you take a hammer and hit the gas tank flat side of hammer, while someone else is turning it over. it should start. if it does start the fuel pump is shot.

Check the fuse under the dash. Did you replace the inline fuel filter? If not, you could loosen the line going into the filter then turn the key to the on position. The pump should run for about 2 seconds then the relay should kick off. Turn off the key for approx. 5 seconds then cycle key back on and the pump should cycle again. If you get a 2 second burst of fuel each time then the pump is cycling. Install a new fuel filter and check the grounded wire by the tank. Hope this helps. :)
