    HI

Over here we need to have totally seprate indicators and brake lights.

so I am using the reverse light location with amber globes for indicaters, and fitting seperate reverse lights.

I had the same problem. My backup lights wouldn't come on in when I put the auto. trans. shifter into the Reverse position. They WOULD come on briefly as I moved the shifter from Park position into Reverse, but would go off again when the shifter reached the Reverse detent. I got the solution from the Haynes service manual, in which the relevant switch is referred to as something like the neutral safety switch. Check on top of the steering column close to the firewall. Set the parking brake, then move the auto. trans. shifter into Neutral position. Get under the dash and rotate the neutral safety switch clockwise as far as it will go. Then move the shifter into the Park position, and your switch should be set. If the backup lights don't come on now when the shifter is put into Reverse position with the ignition switch 'on', there may be another problem.

Backup lights don't work

in automatic transmission there is a neutral safety switch, that lets the ECM and BCM know the selected shifter position. check the switch and wiring. in manual trans the reverse switch is mostly located on transmission.

Location backup light nuetral switch on transmision picture

Theres only 2 locations it could be. On the linkage arm on the driver side of the transmission, or its a pressure switch at the tail of the trans.

1989 chevy blazer 1500 transmission modulator vale location

If its a THM400 the valve should be in the side just above the pan. It would have a vac hose going to it.
If its not a 400 it probably does not use a modulator valve but rather a solenoid inside the transmission.

Where is the back-up light switch physically located? Is there a diagram available that shows the location? My Haines manual does not show it.

Hello jack isuzu
If you have a manual trans. with a 3.2 it's on top of the trans. if you have a 2.2 it's on the right side of the trans. My diagram does not show a seperate switch for the backup lights on an automatic
transmission, it may be part of the trans. gear position switch on the left side of the transmission.
Look for a red+yellow wire from the rear of the truck to the transmission, this wire runs from the
backup lights and you should be able to follow it back to the switch. Hope this is helpful.

What transmission come out in a 1983 chevy silverado

It should be the 700 r4 transmission with the 350 block,
unless someone changed it out, it could be a turbo 350, if the truck is a 3/4 ton.
if you have 3 gears and over drive it is a 700 r4
only 3 gears turbo 350

Where is the back up light switch located on a 2004 Ford F150 with automatic transmission.

The "reverse switch" or backup switch is part of the DTR ( Digital Transmission Range Sensor ) on the driver's side of the trans, about half way on the trans.
This has ( if memory serves me correctly ) 14 wires from it, as the neutral switch ( starting ) and reverse lamps are only part of the operation ( other parts include the SOTF for the 4x4 ).

Back up lights won't come on. New bulbs were put in and still no lights.

most likely the backup light switch is defective, it is located on the transmission where the shift cable connects. Here is a picture and part number and price.

Need location of HIGH Gear Pressure Switch on gm transmission

Do you have a 1 piece case or does the bell housing unbolt? A 700R4 usually has 3 switches on the back of the valve body.the one closest to the 1-2 accumulator (pass. side rear corner) is the fourth switch. If you have a two piece case, you have a 4L60E,the pressure switch is still on the valve body but it is an assembly, not a single switch.

What is the code 700 and 1776

Re...Clarification request....
The 700 code is.....your car has a electrical problem in the transmission.A control circuit malfunction.
You will have to take it to a trans specialist to diagnose the 1776 code. This code is also a trans problem...resulting from the 700 code.
