Look in between the engine and the trans. they are always mounted there, but either in the front or the back of the motor.

well, you need jack stands unless you can do it from the top.. unhook your battery then undo the 2 or 3 bolts holding starter, then unhook 2 power wires on starter, make sure wires go back where they came from, or you mite be doin it again...

Intermittent start when turning key

If I starts after you wiggle the key around in the ignition you need to replace the ignition barrel as its worn .If its just a random problem and some times it starts and some times it does not you mite have a problem with your starter motor .Can you clarify the problem and I mite be able to give you more help

i have a 1991 f-150 and had the same problem try changing the fuel filter and put gas treatment in the tank alone with fuel injector cleaner if that doesnt work you mite check the fuel pump and see if any rust or dirt is in the tank cloging things up

Clio that wnt start

u mihgt have a short somewhere,even if u have a bad connection u can have all kinds of problems,do u think u mite have pinched a wire somewhere?double check all connections on battery and starter wires.if u can install a good battery to see if it mite make a differents.let me know what happens GOOD LUCK.

Kinda sounds like it is the flywheel. Next time it happens, take the starter off, and look or feel the flywheel. If it is ground down, you will need to get one put in.

Check the battery connections, make sure they are tight and secure, and also look at the starter relay (underhood). It sounds like the starter is not getting a strong enough electrical shot to fully engage... If these are OK, replace the starter! Person who checked the starter checked it when cold, when it DOES work--- They might not get the same results with the starter hot!
