Re: ac low on 99 devill
You have to make a jumper wire to put in the plug of the wiring that hooks on the pressure switch. This will kick on the compressor, and enguage the clutch on the compressor. Then you van charge the system.

ac compressors are controlled by relays , switches , high and low pressure switches and fuses
replacing the ac compressor will require the gas charge to be administered as too little or too much will affect the high/low pressure switches
have it inspected by an accredited ac specialist shop for a proper diagnosis and a quote
ADD Freon. It's a R134 system and the pressure is too low. Trust me add Freon and it will work fine. With a low amount of Freon if you jump the low pressure switch at the accumulator it will be very cold but will not have enough pressure to kick on the low pressure switch.
freon is probably low.. once freon level is to low the ac will not run to avoid damaging the ac compressor. you can try to add your own but it never works as well as having a recycle /recovery machine take care of it for as it will remove any air built up in the system..
I had a 97 and the knobs broke from time to time. Dealer part. The compressor could be low on freon and/or oil but only if there is a leak in the system which would need to be repaired at some point. A DIY can add oil or freon with a gauge kit sold at auto parts stores if the car is 1993 or newer ( R134).
The ac clutch wont kick on if the refrigerant is low. If you have rear air I wouldn't expect one can to do very much for very long. You may not have lost what you put in but it may not be enough to do anything. Try a large can for SUV's with stop leak, engine running, system turned on high, while charging the system. Make sure you screw the cap back onto the port.
yes you can add freon.there is two aluminum lines one is a high side the other is a low side unscrew the low side cap (they have symbols on them ) grey or black caps ...the freon can have instructions in the back of can turn ac on and fill system good luck
you should be adding the 134a to the system the low pressure switch is doing its job by not allowing the compressor to kick on, it wont kick on until there is enough 134a in the system to be above the preset pressure for the low pressure switch.
