99 Venture and 02 Montana Alternators: Same or Different?
I am trying to find an alternator for an 02 Pontiac Montana and when I searched for it online seems it's same as 99 Venture. I have an alternator from the Venture will that fit the Montana? I just want an idea before I gut it and take out the old alternator!

Reseting the power sliding door gm Montana or venture?
In: Chevy Venture, Pontiac Montana [Edit categories]
It's in the owners manual under power door. I believe you pull the fuse under the hood for 15 sec with the overide switch in the off position. ...(roesterman adds...).My power door was opening all the way then closing immediately. I used this method to reset door and it worked! This started happening after I had some body work done to vehicle..maybe they disconnected battery or something. Delay locking was locking doors before slider was closing too. This left the door unlocked. I haven't tested to see if this has been corrected by reset yet.
The car is having power drained somewhere. Check for an electrical short or some kind of "on" power source. Good Luck!!----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ECU Chip Tunning Tools
Sounds like a bad alternator. GM vehicles are notorious for failing starters, alternators and fuel pumps. If your battery light is flashing, your alternator is not putting out enough keep the battery charges and keep all of those electronics running. take a volt meter. You should get anywhere from 13.8 to 14.8 volts with your engine running and about 12 volts with everything off. Take the vehicle to your local auto parts store for a free charging system test. Advance auto parts can load test the battery and charging system.
They run in 3 year pairs on almost any vehicle. 2000-2003 or 05-07. I recommend same model like montana. Otherwise the bolt pattern or balancer may be a tad different. You can always measure the bolt pattern. If you can find a venture with the same motor size, then you may be in luck.
How do you know the thermostat is ok? If in doubt replace it. Water pumps are a even bigger what if. Did he do a radiator flush? Cooling system flush of the engine? Cooling fans come on at what temp and go off when? Replace the engine temperature sensor? 6 years old is bound to have sensors and such go bad.
