Did the car run hot??? You might have crack the head, and that more problems... Does your car smoke when you first crank it up in the morning???? You might need to have the head rework. Do you have water in the oil or oil in the water???? These are a few thung you will have to answer yourself on getting started on this job????

You are going to need a repair manual for your Supra before you start. I have one in my shop right now for another problem and I took a look under the hood. I wouldn't try it without one. The manual will give you the step by step with pictures.

Car overheating, I know I blew the head gasket, and I'm in the process of fixing it right now, but what is a good head gasket? Also what could be other reasons behind the car overheating?

Stick with the OEM headgasket from the toyota parts department, you are correct in assuming that there is another problem that caused the overheating in the first place. Overheating is usually caused by an external coolant leak or a blockage in the cooling system, possibly a partially restricted radiator, stuck thermostat.

My 91 toyota supra has some kind of overheating issue. I just had the radiator repaired and took it for a long hour drive, half an hour into it, the temp guage starts creeping up. Its fine around town but...

The big issue with these supras(I have one) is that the head gasket blows. Check for any white smoke from tailpipe or bubbling in the coolant overflow tank, or rough starting, those are signs i've had. I've also had trouble with my radiator/overheating, so doesn't hurt to double check that. Supraforums.com and Supramania.com are great sites too. If you ever redo the headgasket, do it right, that means quality headgasket, Felpro, or even better, metal headgasket, inspect/resurface the surfaces, and 75 to 80 lbs or torque on those headbolts.

Low idle (insted of high) when cold

i would get a compresion check .because it sounds like the head gasket is too thick, lowering the compresion would give the same results.but as its a simple check its the cheapest way to start.....

Can I use a non turbo head on a turbo?

Yes the heads are interchangable. Best way to find out if stuff is interchangable is to go to Toyota dealer and compare part #'s
