Rear Brake Lights not working, 3rd light is working

I have a 2000 Jeep Wrangler my brake light above the spare is working but i have no brake lights on the 2 main lights? I have changed the bulb and check the brake light switch ( i figured the switch was good due to the 3rd light working? Any assistance would be appreciated. I am still driving it hoping that having the 3rd light as a stopping signal is legal no stops yet.....

Check the fuse for the stoplights. Even though the 3rd one is working it should be on a different fuse. With both of them not working even after you changed the bulb it would seem to lead to a fuse.

Check the brake control switch situated just above the break pedal arm under the dashboard. Could be a wire loose or unplugged or the switch itself could be faulty

Brake lights do not work in 1995 Jeep Wrangler. Lights, hazard lights and turn signals do work. 3rd brake light does not work. I have already replaced the brake light switch and the fuses are fine.

have you check to see if power is going through the switch and out to the lights at the switch.if there is no power going through the switch then it may need to be adjusted,or the wire going to the lights has a break in it that you will have to check out to find the problem and repair.

Our brake lights keep going out, the Stop LPS Fuse keeps popping. My husband checked wires, nothing looked wrong. He replaced the brake lamp switch and fuse still popped. Now he's checking actual tail...

check to see if someone has installed a tow hitch on the rear, they would have spliced in the wiring in the rear of vehicle, thats where i find alot of corroded wire that were poorly taped.

Left rear turn signal and brake light dont work

You have a broken wire to the turn/brake light portion of the light as they use the same wire. Or where the plug goes into the light assy could be bad. Torsion mount lights are horrible and you should think about replacing with a universal light that you can wire direct.

Check the Inside Fuse Box with a Flashlight for Blown Fuses. Then Check the Fuse Relay Box Under the Hood. Check the Fuses in that one to, If the Fuses are all good, Locate the Illumination, and Brake. Replace these Relays. That should get them back on, Let me know!
