Yellow light on dashboard under "D" when put in 4 wheel drive

When I put my 2005 dodge Durango into 4 wheel drive a yellow light comes on under the "D" (Drive) on the dashboard and I can find anything about it in the manual. Does anyone have any idea why this light is coming on and what it means?

My car just died on my 2004 dodge srt-4 and when it shut off the yellow light on the right side of the dashboard came on, now my car wont crank back up, what is the problem?

There are leaky capacitors insider your computer ECU) /// inside passenger side left kick panel.

This a well know capacitors issue with 3000GT and SRT-4.

The capacitors part is under $15. Labor time is under 1 hours.

There are ECU swape shop but they will charge you top dollar.

Ask a friend with GOOD soldering skill to do this job.

Good luck.

My 2005 durango engages the 4 wheel drive by itself and wont disengage the service 4wd light comes on first what could the problem be please help

This issue has reared its ugly head more than once on the Gen 1 and Gen 2 Durangos. Sometimes a simple battery disconnect /reset can cure the issue.

Other times, the TCCM or Transfer Case Control Module was at fault and needed to be replaced.

If you are fortunate enough to be still under the 7/70 powertrain warranty, the dealer will replace the TCCM for the $100 deductible.

Otherwise, it can cost in the region of $400.

How do you use 4WD on a 1999 dodge durango?

there are 2 systems.
one is a part time system only.the 4x4 locks and is for ice mud and snow.Driving full time will damage the transfer case. The other system is a full time system and the selector says 2wd,4wd part time ,4wd full time and 4 lo. if in full time,it can be driven all the time even on dry roads. The full time is really an all wheel drive system.
the 4low is a very low gear and the main shifter has to be put in neutral and then the transfer case put in 4 low.attempting to put it in 4 low while in "drive" will make a gear grinding noise.
getting out of 4 low is the opposite.shifter to neutral and then put it in 2wd and then in drive. The newer durango has an electronic transfer case with a dial on the dash. The 2002 was available with 2wd,4wd,awd and 4 lo on a switch. The 1999 has the lever on the floor .

How do i turn on the passenger air bag on a 2005 durango?

The solution to this problem is usually found in the owners manual but if you do not have this, in the center of the dashboard there should be a switch that can be turned to the left with any kind of key if the light is not on beside of the switch this is an indacation that the air bag is active, however if the light is on (usually yellow) this indicates it is in the off position. When it comes to airbags on a vehicle it could mean the difference between life & death my suggestion is take to an dodge dealership and make sure it is properly working. you cannot put a price on anyones life. God bless & good luck!!!

4 wheel will not engage on 2002 DODGE DURANGO

you will need to let the durango sit in the nuetral position without moving, then turn the knob from 2WD to 4WD. if that doesnt work, try putting the durango in reverse and then back to drive a couple times. you may have some mud/dirt/oil caked up under there interfering with the 4WD moving parts.
