1998 Chevy Astro Van has no electrical power

1998 Chevy Astro. Worked fine when I got home last night. This morning...no electrical whatsoever. The battery is less than 4 months old. Still I re-charged the battery (which showed full charge anyway)...no luck. Checked fuses...no luck. I also traced the hot cable down as far as possible and it seemed ok. I have no electrical power at all and it was working fine when I got home the night before.

Check the battery contacts for tightness and deposition. Make sure polarity is fine.
Also check the ignition switch

The primary hood latch for my 1998 Chevy Astro Van does not work, how can I open my hood?

My '02 astro van hood latch used to stick shut also. I was able to open it by having a friend operate the pull handle under the dash while I picked up on the hood. After I got it open I used some cleaner to degrease the latch mechanism and lubed it all with a good penetrating oil. It's worked like new ever since. I suspect I'll have to relube it every once and a while just to keep it working like new, after all it's a moving mechanical part.

Electric locks locking themselves

It could be a bad door lock switch. The internal parts of the switch could be loose from use/wear.

1999 chevy astro van 4.3 will not start in morning, after cranking for several minutes it will finally turn over and run fine the rest of the day could it be a bad fuel pump or oil pump

I have the same problem, I replaced the fuel pump. Did NOT solve it. i was told that it is a computer problem. The computer is not sending electric to the fuel pump, by cranking it several times the oil pressure builds up and will over ride the computer and send power to the fuel pump. This is a common problem on these asrto vans.
