Question about 2005 Ford Five Hundred

1 Answer

Dash gauges not working

Last week after oil change, leaving dealership, RPM, speedometer, gas gauge on my 2005 Ford 500, was flickering very fast then stopped. I thought maybe something with reseting computer. This morning, I backed out of my garage, going down the road and my air bag light came on and I noticed all the gauges were not working, not even lighted!. About 3 minutes later, every thing came one, but the speedometer was registering between 30 and 40, the road I was on is a 25 speed limit, I know I was not going 30-40. The RPM's was also higher than usual. Anyone with a solution. thank you, Jeanne

Gauges in 92 camaro rs stopped working

Remove it..Probably installed incorrectly . Tach is probably incorrectly wired into the distributor harness and effecting rpm voltage to the speedometer and may possibly blown the voltage regulator to the gauge in the dash.

Dash gauges to include fuel gauge, speedometer, rpm gauge working intermittanly. All service lights work

GM had gauge cluster problems from 2000-2005. Bad stepper motors. On those units you have to replace the cluster or rebuild it with new stepper motors. Dealership can fix for around $150.00

Fule gauge speedometer and rpm gauges stopped

Go to the fuse box and change the fuse for "Gauges". I think this might solve the problem.

mustangs of your year are known for having defective stepper motors installed in the gauge cluster. Having someone replace the bad motor with the newer p/n motor should be a lot cheaper than replacing your cluster at the dealership.
