Question about 1999 Kia Sportage

Kia Sportage stopped running While driving

Within the last few months, I have had my entire fuel delivery system/pump replaces, the starter, and the ignition switch replaced. Now a few weeks ago, I was driving down the road and my car shut off. There was no chugging or anything. I just tried to accelerate and could not as it was no longer running. What could this be?

yeah it is the timing belt. Just hope that there is no damage to the valves.

Sounds like the catalytic converter may be bad.
But could be an electrical issue as well.

Possible timing belt ( if equipped ) broken. Possible fuel delivery issue ( fuel pump ) or possible ignition/no spark issue ( crank sensor ) to name a few

Have you checked the fuel pump relay to see if it is sending power to the pump ? The computer grounds the relay when the computer "sees" oil pressure or engine RPM.

Fuel delivery problem - 2000 Kia Sportage 2WD - fuel not reaching fuel filter, pump is working, relays by fuses are ok, other fuses ok. looking for colored wiring diagrams

If the pump is running but not putting out any fuel the strainer in the tank could be clogged causing it not to pick up fuel. Also check the fuel pressure regulator and make sure it is working correctly.

There are many controls for a fuel delivery system one possible problem is an overheating fuel pump, take the car to a reputable mechanic to save a lot of grief and or money
