My Kia will not drive

My Kia Sprotage is having some major issues. It happend 2 wks ago and they still can't figure it out. The check engine light came on and it is totally bogging out. It won't drive and has a hard time getting up to speed. The garage has tried everything he can think of. Spark Plugs, Fuel Pump, Sensors, Exhaust. Does anyone have any idea what is going on with this vehicle? Let me know!

My Kia has broken down every winter I have had the sorry piece of ****. I have had it for going on 4 years. I think KIA stands for KEEP IN ASIA. They are throw away cars, as the guys at the auto parts store told me. It turns over and over, but never starts. The last time it broke down, it sat for 6 months and all we needed was a little black electrical tape. It isn't that easy this time.

Check the Fuel Cutoff Valve behind the Fuel filter (under the hood.

I just temporarily bypassed it on my wife's Sportage and the car started right up and runs fine. Bypass not recommended as a permanent solution, replace the Cutoff Valve if bypassing works for you in testing.

Take this car to a shop that has a device to read the car's computer codes. This will probably explain the problem. If this does not, take it to a shop where they have a vacuum gauge and know how to use it.

Good luck

A vacuum gauge will tell you if there is an exhaust restriction. I know you said exhaust, but did that include the cat converter? They will collapse inside and obstruct the flow of exhaust. A vacuum gauge reading at cruse speed will constantly drop ( less vacuum) as the car goes faster.

    good luck

Just got a 99 subur 2 wks ago The last few day the check gage light blinked on & off.Today it started smoking from under the hood & was hard to turn. What cld this mean? Do I need oil and pwr steering

Sorry Kim:
It sounds like you need a mechanic.
Before I drove it any more I would check with the dealership where I bought it. Lots of places have a 30 day warranty.
REPEAT - DO NOT DRIVE IT!
You don't want any more engine damage to happen.

My 2007 kia sportage clicks sometimes will start sometimes not any ideas what to check

Hi, i would have the starter motor checked out the click usually comes from the starter solenoid. It could also be a bad main wire connection at the starter from the battery.

I have a possible major issue My 2006.5/2007 Kia Optima Please Help its throwing up a P0011 Code Meaning Advanced Camshaft Timing?

If the engine makes rattling noise too then your timing chain tensioner may need to be checked. Slacked chain will alter camshaft timing. Check timing marks to confirm that the chain has not jumped one or two sprocket teeth.

Battery light

Its probably the alternator.
The warning light comes on anytime alternator output drops below 12 volts.
I should also tell you, you can't check an alternator by running the engine with the battery disconnected. The alternator needs the battery in series for the diodes to work. What you did could have damaged the alternator and also the engine computer. Only generators can be checked by disconnecting the battery.

2003 VW Jetta TDI Check Engine Light Issue

Try disconnecting the battery (unhook on of the terminals) wait for like 15 mins, hook the terminal once again and start the car. I also own a 2003 Jetta and once my engine light would come on after 2 mins of driving. Disconnecting the battery is like resetting the computer and hopefully the sensor.
