There will be 4 points to place the factory jack in order to jack the car safely. they are rectangular in shape (the mirror image of the rectangle on the jack).

front 2 are located just behind the front wheels on the body/frame under the driver's & passenger door. follow the hinge of the front doors all the way down to where the paint transitions to the frame. look underneath and you will see the "hollow" rectangles. its about 6 inches back from the wheel arch.

rear 2 are just forward of the back wheels on the body/frame under the rear doors. they are about 8 inches forward of the wheel arch where it meets the frame. look for the "hollow" rectangles.

Please consult your owners manual. The manufacture is very specific about where to jack this car for safety reasons. If you do not have a manual, buy one and or talk to the dealer about this issue

The battery light comes on and eventually the car shuts down

When the battery light is on the alternator is not charging. whith no charge going in there is a drain on the battery and eventually the battery voltage is too low to work the cpu and coils so the engine stops. Check for condition of drive belt and retension if necessary. Have the alternator check for charging

Where are the jack points on a 1987 VW golf?

The jack points are in the sill joints under the car and are marked by wedge shaped indicators. THe jack for the car has a groove that the reinforced jack points fit into. The original jack is a Y type but an ordinary scissor jack with the correct groove in the lift point would also work. Attempting to lift the vehicle at any other point may cause damage to the underside of the car.

Hi all how do i use the jack of a 1997 318i bmw on the back wheel that is flat

Hi, BMW's have a jacking point. If you are looking at the back wheel, look along the side skirts under the back passenger door. There will be a small disc with a horizontal hole. Use a screw driver to turn the disc until it comes out, that is your jacking point.

Place the jack's horizontal arm all the way into the jacking point and start to wind the jack handle. The car will then start to rise at the back. The same prinicple appplies for the front as well, the fronts jacking point is on the skirting under the front doors.

I cant find where to put the jack!

to hoist your car with the factory jack, there are small hole covers below the doors for front and back, {4} pry the plastic cover about 2.5" in diameter, this will expose the strongest points to place the jacks prop shaft. good luck

Bmw 1996 318i se alloy wheel hot

just one wheel? Check to see if the brakes are dragging slightly on that wheel. Jack up the car and spin the wheel by hand, you can do the same to the wheel on the other side of the car that isn't hot to see if there is a difference. Could also be a wheel bearing going bad.

How to remove wheel on 2001 bmw 325i

In the boot you'll find underneath the carpet, a spare wheel well. Containing a spare wheel, a jack, lever tool to remove the bolts and thats all you need. Make sure the handbrake is on and in gear to stop the car moving. Using the jack, you'll notice rubber jacking blocks on th underside of your car.
These points are where to jack the car up. Jack the car up so the its slightly lifted but the wheel is still touching the floor, this will make it easier to undo the wheel nuts. Best way is to put the wheel bolt removal tool and kick it down to "crack them off". Once all bolts loosened continue to jack car up till the wheel is clear off the ground. Remove all loosened bolts and replace wheel. Job done!
