Problem for Mercedes-Benz 2003 E-Class
Merc E200 Automatic stuck in first gear
I have a mercedes benz E200 automatic transmission imported from singapore. The problem with this car is that since it arrived here in South Africa, it could only shift gears from park, reverse, neutral and drive first gear. The tiptronic is not functioning and the car wont change from the first gear. The Diagnostic report indicated the fault in the Gearbox Inlet Speed sensor and the Floor Shift mechanism. Could this be the problem and is it repareable? Please help.
Again would anyone assist with the radio code for this car,it required the code after removing the battery in attempt to reset the computer.

- i have the same problem. I just baught 5 days ago.The same problem.I sent to merc workshop.Diagnostic report indicated the fault in the Gearbox Inlet Speed sensor and the Floor Shift mechanism.I bought a new gear box.RM:6000.00(Malaysian dollar)Now ok.

sent to dealer for proper diagnose on trans.problem,must check oil lever,electrical connection,,maybe control unit,electronic plate,sensor,
