Depending on the car but most cars ive worked on have a fuse in the fuse panel for turn signals and all cars have a turn signal flasher either in the fuse panel or usually near it of course they will be round shaped. And yes there is a turn signal switch usually in the steering column not a fun job usually. If your headlights or dimmer or anything else is on the same switch then it will prob. be call a multifunctional switch at a parts store. You can go to www.autozone.com and click on repair guides and it is basically an online vehichle manual and it should tell you where your fuse or flasher would be.

locate the hazard flasher unit under the dash by turning on flasher and feel flasher unit clicking. the turn flasher unit looks ths same and is close to the signal flash unit and may be interchangable. switch the 2 units and see if the turn flashers work now and replace faulty flash unit
Before replacing the flasher does the hazards work, Try wiggling the turn signal lever up and down and back and forth with the key on and the lever in each position. If the blinkers or hazards start flashing you'l need a multifuntion switch. This isnt a definative test if you get nothing you may have a blown fuse. As fas as the flasher goes, go buy one and then you will know what it looks like.
Your F--150 has 2 flashers, emergency and turn signal. Both are mounted on the fuse block under the dash. The turn signal flasher is mounted on the front of the fuse panel, the emergency flasher is mounted on the rear of the fuse panel. so replace the turn signal flasher should solve the problem. Let me know how it goes.
Did you check the bulbs? If one bulb is burned out, the blinkers won't word on that side. You could have one bulb burned out on each side. Start the car, put left signal on. Check front and back lights. Is one light on but not blinking? If that's the case, the light that's not on at all is burned out and has broken the circuit so the good light stays on and won't blink. Check the other side. You also have a 'flasher' , actually 2. One for emergency flashers, one for the turn signals. It could be that the turn signal flasher is shot. You just have to unplug it to remove. It's probably located near the fuses. good luck countrycurt0
