Question about 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera

1 Answer

1990 Oldsmobile Cierra camshaft pully

My 1990 cutless cierra just lost the camhaft pully. It actually rusted off..The 1st sign was a broken serpentine belt. When replaced the pully actually fell off. Can I replace just this pully? Without a total engine overhaul?

Do you mean crankshaft pulley? i dont know of a cam pulley on these.

if so replace the whole thing. the rubber on these go bad and rip away from the pulley. it happens. Just get a new one. should be a press fit one. may need a pulley puller. not the JAW type, but the 3 bolt type.
goold luck

Not sure I understand the question.
You can look the part up on the auto parts websites and get a list of what models the part fits. Just about any GM product with the same engine and year will work.

Trying to find the lock up converter on my 1991 oldsmobile cutless cierra

It is the torque converter. It is located between the engine flexplate and the transmission front seal in the bell housing. I believe what you are looking for is the torque converter lockup solenoid. it is behind the side transmission cover on the left.
