Car steaming out of coolant recovery tank

Hello i have a 1999 Cadillac Seville SLS and the car once it gets to normal temperature it starts steaming from the coolant recovery tank cap and then coolant starts coming out and after a while it starts to over heat, i replaced the cap, and water pump and it still does the same. I hope im wrong but im starting to think head gasket problem, What else could it be, and just in case it is a head gasket, how can i figure out if it is a head gasket, thanks.

My temp gauge will stay in the middle until until I start driving downtown for about 5 minutes then it raises about and 1/8 inch. I brought it to a Cadillac dealership and they said it was the head gasket, I brought it to and independent repair shop and they said it was the fan sensor so I replaced it. Still has the same problem. NEED HELP!

Have you tried flushing out your radiator? Not sure that this sounds like a problem with a gasket but if all else fails just ask a mechanic... Sounds like this type of problem would be easy to diagnose if somebody has seen it before. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Coolant low, steam out of exhaust, and rough idle at start,

Hate to tell you this bud but you have a head problem most definitely
Head gasket is blown or maybe even a cracked head
Bad news is most caddy engines have problems with head bolts upon removal
I would be looking for a used engine

With car running i loose my power windows, locks, a.c., radio ,and gas gage

sounds like an ignition switch issue with car running check your fuses that control these circuits if they are dead check power coming out of the ignition side of the switch if you have power when the key is in the on position and loose it after it's started this may be the issue

2001 Cadillac Seville SLS Car does not run other

Well, the first thing one should check is the transmission fluid level. Add Dexron ATF to the transmission until full when the vehicle is at normal operating temperature after 30 or 40 minutes of driving.

Secondly, if the car's transmission hasn't been flushed and filled in 30,000 mi. it's recommended that you do so as normal maintenance. This service typically costs about $100 or so.

If the car only runs forward but not reverse, a solenoid may be plugged up with clutch dust, or it's shorted out and needs to be replaced. However, tearing down a transmission on a 2001 Cadillac Seville is rather expensive, in the thousands of dollars.

One might consider getting a good used transmission that has a guarantee on it and have it installed, or have the one in it rebuilt.

Good luck on this repair.

theres no radiator fill, the cap on the over flow tank is considered the radiator cap, thats where you fill the radiator, hope this helps.

99 cadillac seville continues to overheat even though i put a new water pump

maybe the water pump wasnt the problem to begin with. if the engine temperature only goes up when you stop the car then most likely it is the FANS that are not engaging to cool the radiator which is a problem with the fan sensor, computer that controls the fans, relay/fuse. I had the same problem on my 1999 cady STS coming back from my vacation. the engine temperature would be normal only when I drove the car above 70km/hr because the air passing through the front of the car would cool the radiator. when I slowed down the fans wouldnt start and no air was passing through to cool the rad, hence the engine temperature would start to go to HOT. good luck.
