Question about 1988 Chevrolet Blazer

1 Answer

Wont run OK i have a 1988 Chevy blazer 2.8 liter v6 ,the truck was running and i parked it .didn't try to start it for 3 days , when i went to start it just turns over and does not run ...the fuel pump is working and I'm getting gas to the throttle body and im getting spark if i use starting fluid takes right off and runs.but until the starting fluid wares off thinking it has something to do with the injectors but don't no were too start .does anyone have an idea were i could possibly find a easy solution, it something dumb i know it just need possibilities thank you to anybody that try to help me.. P.S i bought a throttle body thinking that it was clogged but a wast of money.. i replaced all the gaskets on the top end of my motor(2.8)... from head gaskets up... when i replaced everything i could not get a spark.. i have tryed messing around with my timing and got the truck almost to fire up as if it was running for like a split second.. it made some really shitty noise like it caught but the engine was dry or something (yes it has fluids oil and coolant etc) but i dont know if the noise had something to do with timing or if my distributor tab maybe wasnt lined up with my #1 cylinder properly...? ive gone over my spark plug wiring.. i put new gas in my tank and my injectors are sending gas into my throttle body injector and my motor did catch for a tiny second.. is this possibly still a timing issue? or something more serious? i am scared to try to flash it up again without maybe changing some of the conditions which led me to this

Since you reworked the top of the motor, I would look real hard at the timing. Since it almost caught, I am assuming you are now getting spark. If not, look at the fuse for your computor. A fuse can blow just cause it's in the mood and no other reason. Keep in mind, it's either mechanical or electrical. You may have fuel, but is it at the right pressure? Change the filter as a precaution.
Good luck

1996 Chevy Astro V6 67K wont start when cold, needs engine starter fluid, ok when warmed up. Runs smooth. What is wrong?

I would say that the choke sensor (or whatever it is called) went bad & isn't telling the computer that it's cold & requires more fuel. Instead of starter fluid, did you try to push the foot feed 1 or 2 times?

95 chevy blazer 4x4, 4.3, v6, tranny fluid flows out top of fill tube. I have changed the filter and no I did not overfill it. Starts right up even when cold, but starts losing fluid right away (drove...

There should be a vent tube on your transmission. Check to make sure it is not plugged. Did it do it before you changed the fluid and filter? To properly check fluid level the vehicle needs to be running and warm and in park on a level surface. Just in case you didn't already know. IF your vent tube is open and fluid level is correct you must have internal problems.

1999 chevy blazer many wires attach to it? i thought there were 3 when we disconnected it but now can only find 2. help plzzz

do you have 2 wires , plus the positive battery cable, if so , i believe the 2 wires went to the solenoid, if you only had 1 wire and a positive battery cable, then the 1 wire went to the solenoid, and positive cable went to the starter.

Injectors not working

ok moisture can cause problems with gas and spark. try some dri gas or something first, check the fuel filter. or somekind of timing with the injectors and the ignition switch.

Wont run

Try checking those sparks again. It could be a weak spark not enough to start your engine.
Make sure also that you have fresh gasoline, as gasoline or diesel looses it's effectiveness after a long time.
