SOURCE: how to replace valve cover gasket 1998 chevy malibu

The first step is to remove all the parts that are in the way of you being able to remove the valve covers. (Ex.: air intake, loose wires etc.) Then you will need to remove your valve covers (using basic tools) and be very careful to not let anything get on your lifters, which your valve covers protect. Once you have the valve covers off compare the new gaskets to make sure they are the right size. Then remove the old gasket and replace with the new one using a high temp gasket sealant (available at any auto parts store) to attach the gasket to the valve covers. Then tighten down snug and check for leaks after replaced.

SOURCE: Hi, I have a 2006 chevy aveo and I was recently

Its easy. I did mine about a month ago. You need to take off all the bolts on the top part of the motor. there are some tubes on the left side of the motor by pushing them out of the way... you take the old one off and replace it with the new one making sure its aligned and the you put it back on.. the bolts need to be hand tightened kinda as tight as you would do your tires.

We took off the breather cover on a 2004 chevy trailblazer and there was water in it

Sounds like you may have a bad valve cover gasket. same thing was happening on my wife's Chevy Aveo. Valve cover gasket was worn and when I replaced it and cleaned plug wells, issue was resolved. As for the breather, I really wouldn't know why there's water in there.Only thing I would suggest there is to check your antifreeze level. Is it water from the antifreeze?

2006 chevy aveo. the dipstick reads oil is full. but there is oil in the spark plug holes.did the mechanic overfill last oil change. that was 4000kms ago. dipstick still reads full oil

You have oil in the plug holes because the seals that are supposed to keep oil out are leaking-you need to remove the valve cover to replace them.

We change the spark plug of my aveo 2004, and we found out that there is a oil leak on the third cylinder, what may cause the problem?

The valve cover has rubber o-ring seals that fit into the valve cover and seal oil out of the spark plug wells. Over time, they get hard and shrink, allowing oil to enter the plug wells from the top of the engine. You need to remove the valve cover and replace the valve cover gasket and o-ring seals. The seals should come with the valve cover gasket set.

Hope this helps,
Dave
