How do I change the low-beam head lamp on my 08 acadia?

Replacing the Low beam Headlight bulb. Turn off engine and open the hood. Remove the front sight shield. This is the plastic shield with seven pop up retainers. After removing the front sight shield, you will get a better view of the headlamp mounting bolts

Next step is to remove the front wheelhouse liner. Whichever side, say we begin with the front left(drivers). But you dont need to remove the whole liner and all the screws. Just remove only those screws and retainers nearest the headlight and front bumper area. Just enough for your arms to reach inside, because the next 2 (or 3) screws (7mm head)you will remove is very important. These are the screws that join the bumper fascia to front side body. After removing these screws, carefully pull outwards the bumperto loosen from its attachment to the body.

(Note: if later on with your work you need to remove the front tires for your convenience, you can always do so. Thats part of normal procedures. However in my case i dont have to remove the tires, I just steer the wheel far to the side which could give me better clearance.)

Remove the remaining retainers(6) thats supporting the front bumper fascia from the top. Remove the 4 bolts of the headlamp assembly. Two on top, and one on both sides. Then pull the headlamp forward enough and try to reach in your hand to remove the bulb cover and then remove the bulb from its socket and connector. turn ccw to remove. Note also the bulb position before you remove it from its socket.

If still you need more space, or if you found out that the bulb connector is burned or melted, the next option is to remove the whole assembly all the way.
Again as a tip you dont need to remove the whole bumper. It will be better if you have an assistant who can pry out slowly and gently the loosened bumper on that particular side, while you maneuver the headlamp assembly removal.

When you have removed the whole assembly, study carefully the positioning of all the bulbs so that the next time you will replace one of them, you can prepare for a better gameplan. Who knows, in a few practice your next approach will be better than mine.
Was that okay? I hope wyet-helped. Goodluck and be careful. : )

I have a 2008 gmc acadia and I need to change the low beam bulbs and I am ay a loss to figure out how it is done any solutions.

Replacing low beam bulbs:
Turn off engine and open the hood.
Remove the front wheelhouse liner. Whichever side, say we begin with the front left(drivers). If you dont wish to remove the front left tire, just turn the wheels far to the right to gain enough clearance. And you dont need to remove the whole liner and all the screws and retainers. . Just remove only those nearest the headlight and front bumper area in order to loosen the front half portion of the wheelhouse liner. Just enough for your arms to reach inside.
At this point, try to reach in for the rear of the headlamp. Work your hands inside to remove ccw the lamp cap, and then on the low beam bulb. Note the position before turning it counterclockwise to remove.

Note: If you still need more clearance for better access, you can (1) remove the tire. or (2) remove the 3 screws that secure the bumper to the body, and then pull outwards to loosen.Try to reach in again. If still not possible for you, proceed with the next removal.

Remove the front sight shield. This is the plastic shield with seven pop up retainers. After removing the front sight shield, you will get a better view of the headlamp mounting bolts.
Need more clearance? Remove the remaining retainers(6) thats supporting the front bumper fascia from the top. It will be better if you have an assistant who can pry out gently the loosened bumper on that particular side, while you carefully maneuver the headlamp assembly removal inch by inch. If in case still unlucky, or you if found later that the bulb connector is melted or burned, proceed furthermore and remove the headlamp assembly all the way.
A burned connector needs to be replaced and a new bulb installed, even if you find the old bulb not busted.
With all the parts removed, you wiill have a better view of all other components within that area, the other bulbs, the horn, the fog lamp, so that the next time you need to work on them you'll have a better gameplan. It's a matter of practice. I hope you noted how and where components were removed, so you wont be lost in the reinstallation. Okay, sir? I hoped wyet-helped. goodluck. : )

My car clunks and rattles in the front whenever I go over a bump. What should I do to fix it?

Look for any suspension connection that has a rubber pad, bumper, or bushing which may be damaged or completely missing. If you bounce each front corner of the car, you may be better able to locate the noise source. Make sure that the wheel lug nuts are tight. With each wheel in the air (use a jack stand to supplement the jack you are using for your safety), try to move the wheel in and out top/bottom and each side in and out. Trace out any 'clunking' that you find. Hope this helps!

Scratched front bumber

Get it fixed by the other parties insurers. It will and should not cost you a cent. Failing that there are several non insured loss recoverers out there. Just search online.

you will need to remove the 2 front signal lights by loosening the single captive screw on each of them. under the signal lights , you will see 2 14" bolts holding each side of the bumper. make sure you loosen the screws that hold the bumber to the fenders.
