1992 Mitsubishi Pajero hard to start without pressing acelerator
I have a 1992 Mitsubish Pajero 3.5 (DOHC). This days It is hart to start it, specially in the morning. It will not start without pressing the accelerator a bit (to keep it at 1500 rpm) for about some 5 min or so until the car is warm. Otherwise it coughs and dies. Batery is ok, and have gone regularly to the shop for required maintenance. Any help please?

The AT Temp light refers to the temperature of the automatic transmission fluid. If worked very hard the tranny will heat up quite a bit and the switch will close telling you the tranny is getting too hot. If this happpens, park your Pajero and keep the engine running and allow the engine to idle, this will help cool the fluid and the light will rurn off. Given the year of your Pajero, a tranny filter / fluid replacement would be a good thing. I have a 1990 Montero (here in the US) and the over heat switch on my tranny failed so light was always on, had to replace the switch. I believe the switch can be found in a tranny coolant line.
