Question about 1994 Volkswagen Jetta
I have a 94 5-speed jetta. The reverse lights do not come on. i understand there is some sort of contact near the tranny that engages the light. Is this thing inside or outside the transmission ? is it easy to fix?
The switch is located on the outside of the transmission. You'll see near the side of the transmission. There should be 2 plugs. One has an allen screw holding it down located right by the inner cv boot (this is the speedometer drive) To the left on a raised portion will be another plug with what looks like a nut or bolt head attatched to the bottom (this is the reverse switch) To remove it simply unplug the connector and remove the switch using a box end wrench.
