Question about 2003 Mazda Mazda6
Car functions perfectly, it's just the display. Just picked it up yesterday from having brake work done and they asked me if it was doing this before I took it in? I asked them if they had to disconnect the battery while they worked on it. They said that the battery was dead so they had to charge it and then the information display started showing weird characters. I'm sure it had to do with the charging, but how do i reset it? I tried disconnecting the battery and hooking it up again with no luck. Any other ideas?
Sounds like a similar problem I had. I had a bad battery. Jumping the car and charger did not help. All instruments work as I am guessing the battery had enough juice to light those but not enough to start car. Either bad battery or alternator. I changed out the battery and everything was fine. If you have an aftermarket stereo or amp, make sure they are setup right. The amp may be drawing power even if radio and car is off which may attribute to low start power (including above suggestions).

What most likely happened was they jumped it in the max boost position. For alot of new cars like yours it is recommended that you do not do this. Your car has a BCM. Computer that could of been damaged. I would take it back to the service dept that changed the oil complaining. Even tho you had a bad battery they prabably left the key on during the oil service which is why you never experienced a no start condition. If it wasnt broken before the service, they did something to cause this. If they give you a hard time state you will file a complaint with your state Automobile Industry
