It will burn up the engine as in any car you run out of oil.

SOURCE: 2004 Ford Escape Electrical problem

This is a problem with the alternator. Diode rectifiers and voltage regulator replacement will give this baby a 14.2 voltage output. In this 3L V6 SUV removal of the alternator requires removing the right tire, the right axis and undercovering to reach the 6G alternator. It is a 133mm rectifier with a motorcraft, The serpentine belt is better removed from the bottom. Also keep a bucket on hand to recover the oil from the transmission.

SOURCE: my 2004 Ford Escape stalls

these vehicles have a problem with the torque converters locking up after a long drive. this will cause it to stall when coming to a stop. Do you feel a shuddering when stopping?

SOURCE: 2003 ford taurus smell antifreeze burning &

probably not. put aluminum seal in the cooling system and top off antifreeze. you may need a hose or fitting from where you are decribing the leak. if the leak stops with the sealant you are good to go. otherwise take it to a shop and they will tell you. do not tell them you think it is a head gasket.

2002 Ford Escape. Would taking the thermostat out of my 2002 ford escape make it leak?

As long as the gasket was put in the jointing services, it should not leak. You are better off replacing it. They are 20 bucks.

When I drive my 2005 ford escape I sometimes smell something burning?

Either it is due to heat from engine I.e. burning dripped oil or clutch issues.incorrect use of clutch I.e. Slipping it or resting foot on it will cause the clutch fluid to burn and waft into the car interior.i once had a burning smell issue that was due to a bin liner getting stuck underneath the engine which caused it to melt and emit a terrifying smell that caused a few days of anguish.

Was driving my Ford F150 down highway, check engine light came on, several mintues later, the truck died. I pulled off to the side of the road. Still have lights, radio, etc, but when turn key, nothing...

May have a wire rubbing somewhere ... check under the truck ... oxygen sensor wires ... if not running or on the exhaust ... see if you don't have wire rubbing on the drive shafts somewhere.
