Do you mean the OBD II connector? If your car is an early 99 then it's a MKIII and it's located under a little door on the dash under the heater controls HERE. IF it's a late 99 model then it's a MKIV and it's under the dash at the far left corner, just above the hood release lever.

The plug in is on the driver side under dash or its under the hood on the driver side close to the firewall and if there is an autozone near you they will test it for free.

2006 VW Jetta code U0100

This problem is with ecu / ecm= engine control computer. These are a common and horrible problem on vw's, particularly on tdi's. The signs in a tdi are when car dash lights come on, but no glow plug light, trans gear lights flash, but car still tries to crank. And hopefully ecu has enough power to out out code u0100= no communication with ecu. Unfortunately the ecu will need to be replacd. The ecu is located under the hood, near and under the wipers. Used ecu with same codes run $50-200. New $1000. If get used one make sure has a return policy. codes must match production quarterly year.

How to add power steering fluid to a 1999 vw jetta

REMOVE THE CAP FROM THE RESIVOR AND YOU WILL SEE A STICK GAUGE AS PART OF THE CAP, WIPE CLEAN AND LOOK AT THE GAUGING ON THE STICK TO SEE WHERE THE FULL MARK IS, ALSO MAKE SURE ENGINE IS WARM, PUT CAP ON AND THEN REMOVE AND SEE WHERE THE OIL GOES ON THE STICK IF LOW ADD AS NEEDED AND CHECK AGAIN, THEN START ENGINE AND TURN WHEEL TO LEFT AND FULL RIGHT TURNS AND THEN BACK TO STRAIGHT, SHUT MOTOR DOWN AND CHECK THE LEVEL AGAIN IS STILL LOW ADD AGAIN, HOPE THIS HELPS.

You have a bad coil pack, they usually crack from age and heat. It's best to replace them all. Check for a VW recall on this item.

1999 vw jetta vr6 abs light stays on, but brakes work fine

the only way you will find this out is to have a diagnostic machine plugged in and the fault memory read to check what fault is logged, it could be anything from a ABS wheel speed sensor to a control module fault, to save money in the long run i would advise you get the fault memory read first. hope this helps

Looking for the fuse box for lights on a VW Jetta

all the fuses on an mk3 vw such as yours, are under the dash on the drivers side. they are kind of a pain to get to, but if you look under the steering wheel, above the gas and brake pedals, there is a little door that opens, the door has a diagram showing which fuses are which. usually the fuses dont go though, have you checked the bulbs?
