It seems that on very cold seasons I go to start Jag and it turns over but will not crank. Battery has been replaced and it acts as if there is no fuel. Someone says to rest the computer. How is that done?

Hi Wyne

Check all the battery & starter motor terminals, if all OK, a new starter motor will be the answer !

Good luck !

A fixYa rating would be much appreciated Please !

200 jag stype no start anti-theft light flashing

Have you another key and fob ?

Try lock/unlock cycle with new key + fob. Your key may be corrupted.

Try also just unlocking the car with the key (not the fob) as soon as you unlock the door put the key in the ignition immediately and see if the car starts.

If you have your radio code it may be worth trying a total reset (leave the car unlocked) disconnect the battery and leave for 20 mins. then reconnect, most systems will then reboot and this MAY help?
Failing all the above it looks like dealer time - more ££ss

good luck !

Car won't start, turn the key and nothing happens.

hi, try disconecting the battery for a couple of hours and try again but make sure you have your stereo code. if this does not work your key fob may be out cync with your ecu and will require reprograming it is easy on x type , you can do it your self ,you can find the instructions in jag forums or ebay for 1.99

Starting problems in Jag x-type 2002

Just had this same problem, starter was ticking but not turning, would start with jump leads but no sign of a flat or faulty battery. Garage I took it to replaced starter and alternater got £270 charge then when I got it back it happened again the next day!
Since found out that it was simply a dodgy connection between the battery and the starter.
