CD player says error and spits discs back out repeatedly

CD player worked great for years and has recently started to not take CDs about 90% of the time. Sometimes if I put a disc in enough times in a row, it will work, but not usually. Radio works fine. Not sure if I need to replace the stereo, or if I can fix it easily.

my cd player does the same thing. It only plays one cd, and not even brand new cd's will play. I am going to try to use a CD cleaner...hopefully that will work.

Cd Player in Mitsubishi Lancer not Reading Cds

I have this problem with my car cd player in nissan sentra. You can buy a cd/dvd cleaner and clean drive several times. Previous owner probably put dirty cds in their and the lenses can be very dirty. My cd player would say error and just spit cd back out. Now it works on and off, i think the lense is still dirty in mine. Good Luck. If that dont do it could be something more major with the player.

CDs are stuck and CD player will not work. Factory six-disc radio. New CDs.Third new factory radio with same problem. Any ideas on getting the CDs out?

From everything I've heard, this is a very common problem and can be costly to have repaired. One forum I found had this posting...maybe it will work for you.

"This is what I did to my In-Dash 6 disc CD Player.

Rather that toss the radio like most are saying to do you can try this first.

Pull the radio out and remove the screw on each side and the 2 on the back. Pop off the cover and you can see the CD's. The part of the CD changer may have not fully engaged the CD it wanted to play and it is stuck not knowing what to do. Press on the CD that so that the part that spins the CD is locked into the center of the CD. Leave the top open and plug in the CD player. It should start going through all of the cd's then if the CD error is gone it will play again."

CD player says error and spits discs back out repeatedly

If cleaning didn't help, then replacing is the way to go.You can go to a local stereo shop and see if they can fix it easily.they might know the trick on doing it.It's worth a try.Don't go to Best buy.I know you have seen one as you were driving around town, just pull in and see what's up,They may have fixed one as the same as your Nissan.

2002 Silverado- CD played ERR message

This is not a fuse problem, it may be a dirty laser lens or a broken loading mechanism, buy a CD player cleaner disk, if that won't work you will have to pull the unit out and send it in for repair at an authorized GM electronics repair station.

My car cd player wont play my cds it just spits them back out.

Either the loading mechanism has failed or the lens of the laser is dirty, have you tried cleaning it with one of the CD changer cleaning disks? Try to clean it first, if the CD cleaning disc won't load then you will have to have it repaired.

About every 2 months our 6-disc CD changer breaks down and we have to have the whole radio replaced they said it comes from playing burned cds in it but it has even broken down with store bought ones. So...

I had the same problem i just decided to pull the whole thing out and get a new radio and single disc cd changer put in and so far it works fine.
