Question about 1997 Pontiac Grand Am
I noticed a day before it wouldn't start the water light came on but I added a few cups of water and the car never got hotter then it normally runs. The water light stayed on. I drove the car 3 times around 6 miles each trip. I then went to start it about 6 hours later and it would just turn over and not start. The next day when i tried to start it it backfired once then would just turnover. The car is getting fire and gas. I had a timing chain and gears put on it about 7 months ago. Do you think it would be the timing chain and gears or something else? Thanks
It could be that your oil or coolant level is still low. When your oil or cooant level is low, your computer senses that and either shuts the fuel pump off or sets limits to it's operation.
