I had a similar problem; the engine would start stumbling around 30-35 mph. If the distributor cap, plugs, and wires does not solve it, try the Spark Pickup Coil. If you look under the hood and atop the driver's side wheel well (for the 22RE engine), it's the cylinder shaped object that is bolted to the wheel well. Replacing this fixed it for me. Bought one from a salvage yard; cost was $60.

I had the same thing happening to my 92 4x4 and traced it back to my distributor cap. $20 bucks and about 10 minutes to swap it out. hasn't failed since

You need to make sure all of the vaccum lines are on and the one behind the throttle body and also ask youself when was the last time the truck had a good tuneup like a fuel filter, spark plugs, wires and a new drive belt and pvc valve

92 4Runner automatic, runs great, put in drive, start down the road and at about 1850rpms cuts off.

Things to check first are fuel pressure and spark. Rig up something you can watch during a driveability (road) test. if neither of the two quits working when the engine dies, check for correct ignition timing (and advance) and injector pulses at the injectors.since the engine idles, the problem is probably not a tired engine, but possibly a sketchy sensor (crankshaft or camshaft position), engine computer, or spark controller. Not so expensive to replace, but no fun to troubleshoot.

Brake problems!

I would recommend that you jack up the front end, and, with the hubs unlocked, turn the front wheels by hand. If either is stiff/hard to turn, you probably have the beginnings of a caliper issue, it may be sticking, rusted, or some issue like that. If one caliper IS stuck, I would def suggest replacing both at the same time, if one is bad, the other cannot be far behind.

Driving down road truck cuts off

I had the same thing happen in my 1985 Nissan Pickup. It would just cut off. It was the fuel pump regulator switch on my vehicle. About a $50 item from autozone.
