Question about 1989 Mazda RX-7

My 1989 rx-7 gtu

My 89-rx-7 will start up o.k! and after it get's good and hot! after letting it run for a half hour before i take it out! then when i go to drive it, it start's back fireing real bad and loseing power as soon as it tries to go up a small hill! then it still back fires and loose's power! ! like i said it hold's oil presure when i first start it and it sound's but after like five minutes on the road my 89 gtu-rx-7 start's to backfire and loose all power! i have two other rx 7's a 86 and a 87 for part's! but i live in wes virginia! could someone please help me! 1-304-927-0026! ask for ted! or call 1-304 373-5121! my 89 gtu is sooo nice! wish you could see it! to bad it ak's up like it doe's! could it be the apex seal's? if so why does it run soo good when i first start it up?-ted!!!

Starts in the moring wont start when its hot

The Starter is most likely the problem. The solenoid in the Starter doesn't work so well when it's worn out and gets hot. That's why the solenoid works better when cold. Changing the Starter out should solve the problem.

89 gmc can't start when hot

Check your engine codes for anything , you can get free info on the web or get a repair manual. it can be one or more problems until you narrow it down.

Mercury Topaz loses power while driving, and stalls out

Check fuel pressure. Sounds like a bad pump or plugged fuel filter.

Has no power

I had the same problem on my 1990 gtu. i replaced the coolant temp sensor located behind the water pump. have not had a problem since.

Mazda well not start after driving short distance

i had something like that happen to my truck. died on freeway, after sitting for four hours it started up and ran fine, one little rectifier in the wiring harness just got hot and killed power to the computer,
